Guest of Honor

This year, SPORE 2009 is proud to announce Mr. Eric Lang as our Guest of Honor.

Eric has been designing games since the impressionable age of 8, mostly in the form of “improving” legacy family games such as the classic German Mensch Argere dich Nicht and Stratego.

Since 1998, Eric has been working in the field of collectible card games either as a playtester, designer and developer. Unfortunately, with the exception of the Shadowrun CCG (for which he playtested), none of these games ended up in print.

In 2000, Eric founded Anoch Game Systems, publishing his first card game “Mystick.” Since then, he has been freelancing as a designer, developer or consultant for Fantasy Flight, Wizards of the Coast, Mattel, Wizkids, Alderac Entertainment and others.

Among his design and development credits are the Game of Thrones and Call of Cthulhu collectible card games (with 21 expansion sets between the two), World of Warcraft the board game, Midgard the board game, DuelMasters trading card game, Mutant Chronicles collectible miniature game. 2009 will be an exciting year with three new games from Fantasy Flight yet to be announced.

In his spare time, Eric fancies himself an amateur writer and musician.
